Employee Engagement and Employee Productivity

The goal of the study was to assess the effect of employee engagement on employee productivity through a mediating variable of job embeddedness. The study was based on quantitative, descriptive and explanatory research designs and approach. Stratified and simple random sampling techniques were used in sampling 243 respondents from a total population size of 619 respondents who consisted of staff of judicial service in Tamale municipal area. SPSS was used for the descriptive and confirmatory factor analyses. AMOS was how used for the mediation analysis. The study revealed that employee engagement has positive influence on both employee productivity and job embeddedness. Again, job embeddedness shows statistically significance influence on employee productivity. The study revealed that, job embeddedness mediated the association between employee engagement and employee productivity. It was recommended that human resource managers of the judicial service in Ghana must implement the right working environment and conditions to boost the commitment and engagement levels of employees in order to optimise employee productivity.
